Revelation

All in one fell swoop, Lance's lungs emptied. Wyre held the phone receiver in one hand and had her other hand on her brother's shoulder. She instantly regretted telling him about Percy's illness. Lance couldn't think of what to say. He tried to move but he seemed frozen in place. He tried to speak but his tongue seemed tied. A million things went through his head at once, but no matter the number of things he thought about, they all ended the same. 
"My fault." He said at last. 
Lance shrugged off his sister's hand. Percy's house was exactly ten miles away. If he flew, he could make it. Even still, Lance paused just before the door. Did he want to see Percy in such a state? He gave Percy a new arm because Percy had given him hope and a home. Would Percy say that he was ungrateful since HE made the arm that was killing him? The feelings Lance held for Percy would be shattered in a heartbeat if that happened, however, his feelings were also too strong to let him stay away. Lance began his race to Percy's fading side.
